 Abstract:  Teatro Libertad was a Chicano street theater group that was founded in 1975 in Tucson, Arizona. Over the course of 10 years, it produced a number of plays and skits, performing them in a variety of places, from cotton fields to local neighborhood centers to international theater festivals. The group worked collectively to write their own material. Their focus was on issues affecting the Mexican American community and the working class. The material included in this collection is comprised primarily of original scripts, photographs, publicity, news articles and organizational documents.

 Abstract:  Papers relating to the Alianza Hispano-Americana, which offered low-cost life insurance, social activities, and other services to primarily Mexican/Mexican-Americans living in the United States and Mexico. Founded in Tucson in 1894, Alianza was one of the first organizations to offer life insurance and burial policies to Mexican-American citizens. This collections includes photographs, financial files, correspondence between lodge secretaries, convention files, published materials, scrapbooks, and ledges pertaining to the daily operations of Alizana. Many of the ledgers include membership enrollment information, including members, their addresses, and lodge information.

Included is the data collected and reports compiled from that data, supporting materials used and dissenting opinions of conclusions in the report, all dealing with farm labor in California and Arizona. Some of the supporting materials deal with Arizona Legislature HB 2134, a bill allowing for the creation of an employment relations board adjudicating agricultural labor disputes.
